Wedding Planning Adventure: Jowaness and Chuchubells Confirmation

Quite heavy huh? I think so too.

In the Philippines a Catholic person should receive the Sacrament once he reached the "age of reason" which is after his first Holy Communion.Which surprisingly did not happen :-(

So here what happened...

The night before our confirmation we realized that neither one of us have our baptismal certificate hahahah this went to finger pointing who forgot, well as always we decided that we would take our chance.

We arrived at San Miguel Church at 1pm instead of 1:30pm since Jowaness needs to make his moves to convince the person doing the registration to let us go thru the Confirmation and that our Baptismal Certificate would be submitted the following week.

So after filling out the forms, Jowaness did his thing and kaboom! we are allowed to submit it the following week... 1,000 pts for Jowaness.

At 2:30 we were asked to go inside the Church for our orientation, well they would just inform you the Do's and Don'ts during the Ceremony opps!! you need to go for confession. I dreaded this part my last confession was... I cant remember, well it was voluntary so I had a choice but then.. I cant bring myself to receive the Sacrament without going for confession so I suck it up and went.

The walk towards to confession was bringing butterflies to my stomach, I was both nervous and scared. So Father was waiting I went and seated beside him, tried my best to be calm but as soon as I said "Forgive me Father for I have sinned, my last confession was..." I was balling my eyes out, well I did survive and went back to my seat... and frankly, going to confession does make you feel good.


So what did I actually took away from this adventure? Being called a Catholic is not enough, we should be a practicing one. Out of the 30 people there  only a handful is within the age of reason the rest of us was there just because we are getting married, this saddens Father, he reminded us the importance of the Sacraments and that as soon to be Catholic parents is OUR responsibility to teach our children catechism and ensure that they receive the sacraments.

Wow! it was a lot to take in, again it gave another light in getting married, made me realize that there is more than happily ever after it does come with responsibility not only to your spouse and Church, we also have this responsibility to our children.

Oh, He did return the following week to submit our Baptismal Certificates and he was given our certificates.

 This was another task that was ticked out from our long list, but I was happy that I was able to go thru it, it helped me prepare for what am getting into, so if your a B2B enjoy your preps and so called chores that sometimes we find menial but it does help you prepare you for your journey to eternity and beyond :-)
